The Mini-Kits EME201 M1 Series HF amplifier is ideal for use as a 10dB HF preamplifier, or low level TX driver with a 1dB bandwidth of 500kHz to 60MHz.  The amplifier uses a BFQ19 transistor which were designed for UHF distribution amplifiers, so are ideal for strong signal handling on the HF bands and produce a low 4.4dB noise figure at 12MHz..  The design incorporates PIN diode switching to allow RF bypassing of the amplifier for receive applications, and the same amplifier to be switched for use as a TX driver amplifier.  A common 16 PIn IDC connector is used for power and the various functions to control the onboard PIN diode switching.  The amplifier has been specifically designed as a building block for the Mini-Kits M1 Series HF Transceiver, but is also ideal to construct you own Receiver or Transceiver design.

This Kit is ideal for all constructors mainly due to the use of conventional leaded components.  Only a very small number of surface mount components have been used due to component availability.  The basic Kit includes the PC board and all onboard components, but excludes the SMA connectors which can be purchased separately if required.
