The EME257 PC board was released in August 2022 and is designed to fit a Mini-Circuits SBTC-2-10L 2 way splitter combiner. The board also allows an optional bias tee ( DC Power Injector ) to be fitted, allowing powering of external receive Pre-amplifiers and Active Antennas. This product is ideal for splitting signals from a single antenna to two SDR receivers. A typical application could be Horus Balloon tracking with a RTL-SDR decoding digital imagery pictures, and a IC-9700 decoding tracking data on a single Antenna with receive Pre-amplifier.
1/ The supplied EME257 Kit notes do not include a PC board overlay diagram showing where the components are fitted. It is expected that constructors have some experience in working out from the circuit diagram and pictures on this webpage where the components are fitted.
2/ When constructing the optional Bias Tee version, follow
the supplied EME195
Kit notes and pictures below to fit the components.
The EME257-2W-1M-1G 2Way 50Ω 0 degree 1 to 1000MHz splitter can be used to either split, or combine RF signals. It is ideal for use as a receive antenna splitter to split the incoming signal into two signal paths to feed two separate receivers. The design uses a Mini-Circuits SBTC-2-10L, refer to the device data sheet for more information. This product has the option to fit components for a bias tee to feed an external receive pre-amplifier for either HF or VHF/UHF Bands. BUY THIS PRODUCT
This product has the option to fit components for a bias tee to feed an external receive Pre-amplifier or Active Antenna for either HF or VHF/UHF Bands. The bias tee can handle up to 25v @ 160mA continuous. For Bias Tee performance tests please see the EME195 Kit Webpage. Due to the loss through the 2 way splitter, an extra 3.5 dB through loss needs to be added to the EME195 S21 results. The EME195 H or V Kit excluding the PC board is supplied as the bias tee option as it uses the same circuitry and components.
